Q:Is the PowerUP-board 100% compatible with AmigaOS and 68k programs?
A:Yes it is. The PowerUP-board is 100% compatible with all 030-060 compatible programs.
Q:Can I use my old 040-060 on the PowerUP-board ?
A:Yes, you can. Just remove it from your old accelerator and put it on the PowerUP-board.
Note: The Blizzard 603e (+) series is always shipped with an 040 or 060 processor.
Q:Will all my programs get PPC-speed ?
A:No they won't. Only new programs and games that use the PPC processor will.
Q:How do I install the PowerUP-board?
A:You simply remove the old CPU-board (or accelerator in the A1200) and replace it with the PowerUP-board.
Note: If you are using an Amiga 3000 (T), some work on the motherboard is needed (more information is available from phase5)
Q:Will my hardware work like it used to do before the upgrade?
A:Yes it will.
Q:How big is the L1 cache on the 603e?
A:The 603e has 32k (16k data + 16k inst)
Q:What speed does the CPU bus run at with the CSPPC installed?
A:50mhz for 060 boards and 40mhz for 040 boards.
Q:What speed 72pin SIMMS can I use with the CSPPC?
A:70ns and faster.
Q:Are there programs available which support the PowerUP-board?
A:Yes, there are several programs that use PPC. Check out our Program-List Page
Q:Will the PowerUP-board work in the A500 and the A600?
A:No, it won't, and there won't be such a board either. You'll need to upgrade your Amiga.
Q:Will the power-board work in the A2000?
A:No. The Blizzard 2604e has been canceled.
Q:How fast is the PowerUP-board?
A:The 604e 200 MHz does about 350 Mips - That's about 5 - 8 times faster than the 68060 at 50 MHz.
Q:Can I emulate a Pentium on my Amiga now?
A:Both the developers of PcTask and PCX have developer-boards. It is hoped that PCx PPC will be released soon.
Q:Will the CyberVisionPPC work in an A1200?
A:No. You will need to wait for the BVisionPPC (a version of the CVPPC for BPPC cards).
